In addition to the new Mediroyal Materials we are launching a special tape with heat activated glue that can be used as a replacement for stitching or to cover rough seams. The tape comes in 22 mm and 35 mm width on a 10-meter roll or 30 cm width on a one meter roll.
The recommended temperature for activation of the adhesive is 120–140 degrees Celsius and the setting time about 10 seconds. That might have to be adjusted depending on the surface of the material and the composition. Always test the bonding before on a small piece.
Cut the two materials that you want to bond together and place them side by side. Place the materials on a protective silicone baking sheet or a Teflon paper.
Cut the NRX® Heat Tape in the desired length. We recommend that you cut it slightly longer than the surface as it might shrink during the heating. Cover the strap and material with another silicone baking sheet or Teflon paper. Use an iron or a heat press, set on 120–140 degrees Celsius. If you use an iron, disengage the steam function. Apply heat to the surface and wait for 10 seconds. Then check the result. If it has not bonded properly, simply extend the time.
To get a strong bond, we recommend that you do the same process on the reversed side.
Washing recommendation is depending on the care instructions for the main materials used.
