The Proxi® MP splint combines stability, support and local compression over the MP joint. It is designed to relieve and stabilise the MP joint of the thumb, while leaving the IP joint and CMC joint free for functional movement. 

The core of the orthosis consists of thermoplastic and has an integrated, thin aluminium splint built into the plastic construction. The aluminium splint, in combination with the Proxi® plastic, allows for easy and precise adjustment of the angle of the MP joint and fit over the thenar muscles without the need for heating, which facilitates individual adaptation. The material is laminated onto NRX® Strap, which helps to keep the splint in place thanks to the friction the material creates against the skin. The upper side consists of a laminated Velcro fabric that enables secure and flexible fixation. The Velcro fasteners used to attach the thumb strap are movable thanks to a double-sided Velcro co struction to fit the individual optimally.

The splint is available in several sizes and lengths, and the circumference measurement around the MP joint of the thumb is adjustable for an optimal fit.

Indications: After trauma to the thumb’s MP joint, Trigger Thumb, instability or painful hyperextension of the thumb’s MP joint, joint swelling and inflammatory conditions, after luxation or subluxation of the thumb’s MP joint, rheumatoid arthritis or other inflammatory joint diseases in MCP I
